Free Stuff .... Now What?

At a local town dump, there is this thing called the "swap shop". Its where you drop off useful things that you don't need anymore, but which you can't quite bring yourself to throw away. Then other pepople take these things (for free) and leave other things.... (This is all done to keep people from digging through the trash at the dump looking for treasures).
So, a co-worker of mine brought in her current Swap Shop find yesterday and gave it to me. Its a Playstation (PS1, not PS2), which came with two controllers and two oddly-matched games (the Bug's Life game, and a game called something like "Soviet Domination"). She doesn't want it, so I took it home. It works. So, maybe not state-of-the-art, but a free Playstation is a free Playstation, right?
Any suggestions on games I should get? Josh's fave game is Dynasty Warriors for PS2. I also rented Jedi Power Battles last night (as Josh is currently deep in the middle of a Star Wars craze), but that was a little two much Tomb Raider and not enough hack-and-slash for him (too many puzzles). Thoughts or suggestions for other stuff he might like? (Or I might like, for that matter....)

Some ideas
Date: 2005-03-03 12:43 am (UTC)I have Spyro the Dragon for PS1 which you are welcome to borrow. It's cute and puzzley.
If you like driving games, Gran Tourismo for PS1 is the original.
I've heard good things about Army Men.
Then there are the classic First-person shooters: Doom, Quake and Hexen.
Those are the one's that I can think of for now
