I really just wanted to tell you about Angry Birds.
E loves Angry Birds, and he's pretty good at it. He gets frustrated, though, that I won't let him play it every. waking. moment. It's pretty much the first thing he asks for every morning ("is your phone charged? Can I play angry birds? Can I PLEASE play angry birds?").
Of course, I won't let him play it every waking moment. What kind of parent would I be if I did that.
So, he has gathered together a wide and varied assortment of toys (including a plush pink piggybank, a round nubby yellow ball, and a round nubby red ball) and has started "playing" Angry Birds in the living room downstairs.
Part of me wants for him to find the actual, licensed Angry Birds plush toys in his stocking.
But part of me - a big part of me - thinks things are fine just they way they are.

Date: 2011-09-20 11:46 pm (UTC)Yesterday she used red, yellow, and blue blocks as the birds and green for pigs. She made a set where the birds could knock the pigs out of their block buildings.
It was wonderful.
I say keep things as they are. It's the same reason I haven't bought her Woody or Buzz toys even though now I could afford them. It's more fun to see her acting it out with other toys or people.
And there is something so awesome watching a 3 year old run at you all out yelling "TO IMFIMIDY AND BELOND!!! AAAHHHHHHH!"
