You know that thing where you have a little money in your bank account and your car somehow senses that, so it breaks?
Last night the timing belt went on the Jetta. Fortunately, it stopped working about eight feet from Josh's parent's driveway, where it sits now.
We were getting ready to buy a van anyhow, but I was hoping to get rid of the Passat (which has all kinds of issues and isn't inspectable) and keep the Jetta. Now I don't know what we're going to do, besides buy a van this weekend and have me keep driving the uninspected Passat. (Its not really a safety issue - the wires that run the power window are corroded and are uber-expensive to fix.) I think I'm going to have to resign myself to putting about $3000 into one or the other of the VWs no matter what. Sadly, that reduces the amount we can spend on the van.
Oh, and Bank of America sucks. But you knew that.
