I'm sorry if you're horrified by this, but Josh and I actually went out and did some Christmas shopping last night.

It didn't start out that way. I had to go to the Christmas Tree Shops to look for something very specific (a lamp), and it was Christmas there (which is fine, because my feeling is that stores with Christmas in their name are exempt from the "No Christmas Before Thanksgiving" rule), so we laughed and sang along with the carols on the music and shopped and bought some bows and a book about how to light your house up all fancy for Christmas and a CD and then we left and went to another store...

... and it wasn't Christmas at the second store hardly at all, but they were having a massive sale and I found myself saying "Hey, wouldn't your sister like this for Christmas" and then we found something else and I said "Hey, wouldn't [name redacted] like this for Christmas" and then we found some very cheap stuff that I was sure that [name redacted] would love to have in her Christmas stocking, and so we ended up spending almost $60.00 at the second store, and all on Christmas ...

... and then we went to a third store, that sells books, and I'm not allowed really to buy anything there as its a chain and not an independent, but the exceptions to that rule are a) remainders b) CDs and c) DVDs (also Gaming stuff, cards, and Misc Junk), and they had two things in remainders wicked, wicked cheap that would also make great gifts, so I bought those things, plus I'd been given a Gift Certificate to the store that sells books for my birthday, so I also bought a book on the "True Identity" of The Man In The Iron Mask ...

... and then we went home. Oh! And I've left out that we also had a yummy mexican dinner (with a wretched waiter) and it was pouring rain.

I have to work tonight - also Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Bleah.

We need to take the Halloween decorations down -- and soon.

I need to hire someone to come and deal with our leaves, as its very clear that no one who actually lives in my house is going to have the time/energy to do it.

Very quiet here at work today -- nobody here but me. And that should mean that I get lots done but what it actually means is that I'm getting nothing done. At all. But that will change when I complete this post.
