Ben Cooper RULES!

This great page of vintage (well, ok, I guess my childhood is now "vintage" but there are also quite a few here older than me) halloween costumes got me all nostalgic for my Ben Cooper and Collegeville costumes of my childhood. You remember the ones. Weird vinyl smock, plus pressed mask with crappy elastic and some graphically interesting box with cellophane on the lid so you could see the eery, eyeless face staring back at you. I mourn for the demise of these masks. I mean, how cool would it be to have these kids show up at your door? And apparently every fashonable little girl in 1963 had that witch costume - come to think of it, I think I had one too, some ten years later. Anyway, I'm sure you've seen the worst of those mass market costumes of the era. Here's a great page devoted to the best of them, and the rest of them.
