... ah, sweet internet....
-- Our internet was out all day at work today. It took three hours with IT and tech support to sort out that the modem had died. It ended up being a productive day, but not in the ways that I had intended.
-- I've been in pain all day. I hate being in pain. Its making me ill tempered.
-- On Saturday at the Farmer's Market I bought a beautiful lettuce that is rather unusual ... it still has its root ball attached. Looks like it was seeded in a peat pot, but I have no idea how the farmer got it to such an amazing size (sorry about the blurry photo). Its been sitting in a bowl of water while I decided if I was going to plant it or eat it.

Also on Saturday, my mom brought me down a planter she had in storage, and now I have chives, lettuce, and parsley growing on my porch. I love the planter and it will be super easy to bring the whole thing inside when fall comes.

-- Friday night my mother and I went to dinner at Local 188. It gets three of five stars -- good food, but they have a hard time telling you what's actually in the dishes. I got unexpected walnuts in my Turkish Salad and my mother, a vegetarian, got unexpected sausage in her meal.
After dinner we went to the open Friday at the PMA. Here's a photo of my mom in the elevator.

... and one more from PMA for good measure:

-- Finally, here's a picture of Evan and his new "Little boy" haircut.

If you haven't done anything with the lettuce yet, you can both plant and eat it. Just chop the leaves off that you want, and stick the rest of it in the ground/planterbox. :) Is to be delicious!
