We used to sing this song every night at bedtime at 4-H camp. It still brings me back to the smell of campfire smoke and the comfort of simplicity and a time when life was uncomplicated.

It is, of course, a Shaker song.

One of the most memorable moments of my life was sitting in the Shaker meetinghouse at Sabbathday Lake and hearing the half-dozen or so surviving Shakers sing this song, with great joy.
