E is still throwing up. We're some 40 hours into the process now. He did sleep good last night (I coslept with him, him laying sideways with his feet propped up on my belly most of the night) but this morning he had thrown up within an hour of getting up, and last night before bed he threw up a couple of times.

No fever, no other symptoms, but now he's scared and asks for "the bucket" every time he coughs. Poor little guy.

We did call the nurse at our peds office, and they said we could bring him in if we want but there isn't much they can do for him besides try to hydrate him. I don't think we're at the point yet where he needs IV hydration and we can feed him Popsicles just as well as they can.

This does put a dent in our weekend plans (tree burn tonight, even tomorrow).

Also, the entire house smells slightly of vomit now. ew.

Poor kid!

We had ice cream buckets all over the house when I was growing up- they were ever so useful for things like fulling the humidifier or storing cookies and yes, puke buckets. (We even had at least one in the car always)

Eventually he will learn how to listen to his body and know the difference between "there is something in my throat" and "I have to puke." Unfortunately, the only way to learn that is through experience.
