I would have thought that handmade knee socks for women would be the easiest thing in the world to by on Etsy.

I would have been wrong.

I can find dolls socks, toddler socks, lycra socks, and legwarmers. But regular old handknit cotton or wool socks (in a nice pattern maybe). No dice.

I have read that socks are time-consuming/enough of a pain to knit (tiny needles) that people wouldn't want to pay what they're honestly worth, so that's why people don't sell them. Just the price of posh sock yarn alone for a regular-sized pair (you'd need more for knee socks, obvi) can run $20-30.

You could use Etsy Alchemy, but I don't know that they could be made and shipped in time for Xmas... if you're looking as a Xmas gift.
