Buy Local = FAIL

"All advertising is local and personal. It's one man or woman reading one newspaper in the kitchen or watching TV in the den." - Morris Hite
I would love to do nothing but Buy Local this gift-giving season. There are a number of gifts I'm planning on giving that I know I can get from local merchants I would be proud to support.
However, given my current time limitations, and my even more severe mobility limitations, its not going to happen. Two or three hours with the web and a credit card is going to be my holiday shopping experience.
I'm feeling incredibly guilty about this.
I have been trying to shop Etsy, but I find their whole search really frustrating. I'm not the kind of shopper who can scroll through hundreds of pages of "stuff" looking for something that might work.

Date: 2008-12-07 03:17 am (UTC)You're in a tough spot. Sometimes it's okay to do the convenient thing instead of the most green/earth-friendly/politically-happy thing. It doesn't mean you care any less.
Next year, you'll be up and about and you can do all the local shopping you like.
