What I Did on My Xmas Vacation
Dec. 27th, 2006 11:18 amThursday the 21st: Cleaned most of the house (four hours on the bathroom! Four freaking hours!), ran a couple of errands. ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
staceyspins and tonypatriquin arrive. Much hugging and laughing to be had.
Friday the 22nd: Up early. Josh had to go up to my mother's and assist her with a project, sostaceyspins and tonypatriquin and Evan and I went shopping in Freeport. In the evening, we had a totally fabulous dinner at Ribolitto here in Portland (tonypatriquin and I finished off an entire bottle of wine), then saw Nutcracker Burlesque. In some ways, a better show than in prior years - great energy, and they finally have some male dancers who are fun to look at with their shirts off.
Saturday the 23rd: Up early again. Finished Christmas shopping. Forgot any number of things in trying to leave the house. Drove to Gardiner, had hair done. Got call from Josh letting me know that the cleaner had closed at 1pm, before he had a chance to pick up his suit. Got to my mother's house, locked keyes in car. Did not panic. Got married anyway, with 20 close friends and family in attendance. Good food. Good cake. Lots of leftovers.
Sunday the 24th: Slept somewhat late. More errands. Wrapped presents. Went to my mother's for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. Gave her an MP3 player that she's going to have to get a new computer to use, but that's ok because she needed a new computer anyhow. Picked up lots of debris left over from the 22nd. Boxed it all up and took it home. I fell asleep in my clothes laying on the bed watching Evan sleep. Josh sayed up until 430am wrapping presents.
Monday the 25th: Up early again. Wrapped stuff. Let Josh sleep. Let guests sleep. Wrapped more stuff. Cleaned up the house (some) with Josh's help. Left for his parent's house at 1pm when we'd meant to leave about 10am. His sister was quite put out that she had to open her gifts Christmas afternoon rather than Christmas morning, but, whatever. Orgy of gifts. Ate dinner. Came home.
Monday waskr4sh's birthday, but we were unable to give him our traditonal cake and party this year. Promise to fix that next year. Promise. Family Christmas at the house with K&R, MJ&K, S&A, J&S, and us. Another orgy of gifts. I went to bed early to watch the sick little boy sleep. People ate the leftover food from the party on Saturday. All good.
Tuesday the 26th:staceyspins and tonypatriquin went home, Josh and I vegged around doing not much. I went to work for a couple of hours to deal with the mail, etc. Josh' brother came over and hooked up our new WiFi network (now our Tivo and our Computer can talk to each other!! Waahoo!). Josh and Jeff and many others went out to dinner. I stayed home and Evan and I played with many of his new toys. He went to bed and I watched some of my new Dvds.
Back to work today. A good weekend, but full. Next year we'll need to find a way to do less driving. I'll post a photo of the dress when I have one. Promise.
