"Let the rain sing you a lullaby." -- Langston Hughes

As others have mentioned, it seems to be raining here. Quite a bit. Someday we will have the $10,000 to get the roof fixed, and that will be a happy, happy day.

As some of you already know, I've been home sick for a few days -- my last day at work was Wednesday, actually. I ended up taking Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off (a total of 29 hours missed from work), and I had Sunday off anyway. Today is my first day of not sleeping when I felt like it, but rather trying to stay awake for the entire day. I think it worked. I got up around 1030, and had a space around 730 pm where I just wanted to close my eyes and sleep, but I fought through it and am now going to be at 1130 like a normal human. Go me. Throat still hurts, I'm still coughing, my chest is still all tight and icky (especially in one spot), and I still *want* to sleep through big portions of the day, but I'll be at work tomorrow morning and that's all that really matters.

I can't wait until January comes and I can go back to working 40-ish hours like a normal person.

Big RPG today at my house -- seven players -- first time we've all been together. I think the party is too big, but, hey! What do I know? It seems to be working ... the only problem is that some subset of the players always are bored while we're off doing different sorts of things, so there are lots of side conversations, which lead to a lot of catch up, which leads to other people getting bored, which leads to side conversations, which leads to.... You get the picture.

Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] mermaidlady I made homemade Mac and Cheese to feed the hordes. It came out ok, except for the part where Josh and I argued about how to make it. For some reason I can't explain he often (in regards to cooking only) takes a request of "tell me how to do this one step" or "tell me what you think the directions mean here" to take over and do the entire freaking thing for me even when its something simple like opening the cheese and putting in the pot. Grrr. I guess its because he's the primary cook, and he's just used to doing it, but its really freaking annoying!

If you're in Maine (or, even really, if you're not in Maine, but its Maine I primarily care about at this moment) please Vote No On Question 1 on Tuesday. Thank you.

Last but not least, I found something odd and disturbing in the trash as I was emptying the bathroom trash tonight. I'm very sure it doesn't belong to anyone here at my house. I know it wasn't left at the Halloween party, since our trash goes out on Monday, which means it was left sometime between today and last Monday (the 31st). Now I'm going to be faced with always wondering which one of our friends left it there. Hmmmm.

I guess that is all. And so to bed.

I wasn't there, so I'll start the guessing game about what you found in the trash...
