Your bowl looks good. You might try propping the mold up, so that there's a couple of inches of airspace under the edge. That way, you could leave a bit of excess when you drape it, and fold that edge under, to reinforce the bowl's edge.

I have some clay and dental tools (some metal and some wood) that I use to smooth seams before they dry. Dipping your fingertips in water might help smooth, too.
