I want to start growing Chives, in my kitchen.

Problems:

1) I have a black thumb. I kill plants dead.
2) Its very cold in my house, and in my kitchen in particular. Its not unusual for it to get down to 58 - 55 degrees in there at night.
3) See #1.

Nevertheless, I want to grow chives, so I always have fresh chives. How do I start?
