anastasiav: (Charlie Brown Christmas)
I'm feeling better today.

Did I mention the surgeon said I can start with weight bearing (pending the results of the x-rays) on the 15th? That's only 12 days away. (Tomorrow is five weeks since the accident.)

NY Times Best Illustrated Children's Books 2008

I think we're going tonight to buy a organizer thingy to try and organize some of the toy-mess in the living room. Getting rid of toys should also be an option, but I hate to do it without E being able to participate in the process.

50 Incorrect Pronunciations That Make You Look Dumb

We're taking E to get his holiday pictures done on Sunday. Now we just have to find him something "festive" to wear. We were trying last night but realized that much of his wardrobe (like ours) is black.

Grand Theft Auto, Twitter and Beowulf all demonstrate that stories will never die

My mom wants to get E a tricycle for Christmas. I'm asking her to hold off until the spring to give it to him, since he won't be able to ride it for about five months and I don't want to deal with him being able to play with it on Christmas and then it vanishing for ages. But she doesn't like any of my suggestions .... my question is, then, why did she ask me if it was ok if she was just going to say "well I'm doing it anyhow". Sheesh.

15 Spectacular Stairs and Staircase Designs
I like the bookcase one myself. Imagine.

E's proficiency at music continues to amaze me. He's picked (more or less) the lyrics to a number of Christmas songs, including Frosty the Snowman, We wish you a merry..., Jingle Bells (which he knew already, via Elmo), and -- most spectacularly -- Jingle Bell Rock. I'm hoping to be able to record him in the next day or two to share with you.
