Why is all the news they put on the radio first thing in the morning bad?

So, Josh's alarm goes off at 632 am, and normally the first thing we hear is the second half of whatever the leading news story for the day is. Thus, every morning I wake up to a fire, a strike, a hurricane, lying to congress, domestic spying, or some other tragedy.

This morning the lead story was: Johnny Damon signs with Yankees.

Normally I just nudge Josh so he hits the snooze button. This morning, apparently, I sat straight up in bed and said "Noooooo", then flopped back down on my pillow.

In a seperate ceremony, I will (later today) move my Red Sox World Series Champion Baseball signed by Johnny Damon from its prized place on my bedside table and put it downstairs in the far back of the curio cupboard.

Somehow I don't think this man realizes the amount of abuse he's going to endure on his first visit back to Fenway Park. And he's an outfielder. Man, that's going to be harsh. Hope he brings a hard hat.

I absolutely did. It was funnier because of my divorce. Best 175 pounds I ever lost.
